Capella University

The technology we have today has made it so easy to do almost anything. One of the best things has probably been the ability to work online as well as get an education online!! I know people who have done both these things! Getting an online degree has never been easier....especially from a school like Capella University. They are a fully accredited online college that makes it possible for working adults to get their master's degree and PhD degree. Their website is very informative and would help anyone make an informed decision if they were considering going back to school. You'll also find their Inside Online Education podcast which is pretty cool too.

Firefox

Do you use Firefox? I do and really like it. I know some people are really set on using Internet Explorer and other applications...but for me Firefox has always worked best. I recently read that they're looking at a Firefox 4. Pretty exciting. I definitely think it could be something that I like even better than the one I have now. We'll have to see how it all turns out in the end...but sounds pretty neat. We'll see.

Hackers in Social Networking Sites

Just a word to those who use social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace...it looks like they are being heavily targeted by those who are hackers. The reason being because of the wealth of personal information that can be found there. Kind of a scary thing when you think of it, huh!? So how can you be more cautious? Well...refrain from putting too much information there. No address, no phone numbers, etc. You'd be amazed at the personal info people give thinking it's safe. The sad thing is that there are people dumb enough to take that information.

Allegro Medical

In 1996 Allegro Medical was founded. They now serve more than 1 million customers and are one of the largest and most technologically advanced independently owned online retailers of life enhancing products in the United States. They first began by carrying medical equipment and health care supplies, but in 1998 expanded to include products like Exercise & Fitness Equipment, Nutritional Dietary Supplements, Maternity/Baby Supplies and Outdoor Gear. They offer over 55,000 products as well as a very user friendly website! I was very impressed with how easy it was to find what I was looking for. This is what I consider a great website! If you have time check it out for yourself.

Twitter

Do you do the twitter thing? Up until recently I didn't really see the point, but then my sister shared with me that she uses it to help bring traffic to her blog business. I thought this was a terrific idea!! I don't really get why people just use it for social networking, but when it's to grow a business...now that's a good reason! I am thinking about doing the same thing for SankeyDesign. I could really use the traffic there for sure!! I'm going to have to look into it further...seems like a good idea.

New Mac

It seems that when I think that I've got the latest and greatest computer from Apple, they come out with something new that I gotta have. The problem is, how do I get rid of my Apple Airbook. It's tough to get your money out of a computer that you spend $1800 on. So I have decided to sell it to my sister for a very reasonable price. She can really use a Mac for all of the things that she does on the internet and the blogs she tries to keep up on. I can't wait for my new one to come!

Online Colleges

I love my job, but have always considered going back to get my online degree. I have been looking around some and came across Gonzaga University. Ever heard of it before? In looking through their website I have to say I'm quite impressed! I've looked at many online colleges, but none seem to compare to all that Gonzaga University offers. They believe in educating the whole person-mind, body and spirit which is so important in my opinion. They also offer many respected Online masters degree programs which is also something very important. I was most impressed that they are ranked as one of the nations best universities by The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine! If you are in search for an online college, definitely check this one out today!

Pet Supplies Online

This is just a side note....but I never realized how expensive having a pet could be. I mean, I figured it would cost something of course...but didn't expect this. I got my cat over a year ago and still find myself buying her things. It's too easy not to spoil her. cat supplies are just to readily available I think. She's like my kid...so I guess it's ok...but my wallet is telling me it's not. I have to slow down a bit. Or at least start searching online for better deals rather than just picking up things as I see them in stores.

Time Off From The Computer

I am on my computer all the time. To the point where I am actually starting to think I have a little bit of arthritis or something in my hands. I am on it all day at work, and then at home as well. It makes me think I need to cool the research I do for weight loss supplements and such when I'm home...as my hands really need time to rest up. I can't do much about the work I have at my job, but at home I could try to make more of a conscious effort to relax some.

Pros and Cons

I always say how great technology is...but I have to say that there are many reasons why it's not the best thing too. We all know that it gives us many conveniences in life that we would otherwise not have...but it also puts a lot of information about us out there for others to snatch up! My sister recently informed me that one of her husband's accounts were hacked into and unauthorized transactions were being made. Thankfully they were stopped...but it just sickens me that people out there take advantage of technology and try to screw people over!

Social Networking

Do you ever find yourself sitting at work on the Internet doing personal things like checking your e-mail or even Facebook?? I know I do. Sometimes during a long and busy day it's nice to take some time to recoup. Many are surprised by the recent findings that time online actually helps to make someone more productive at work. It's true though. Those that browse the web during work hours have proven to do their job better. I thought this was very interesting and gives us all a reason to justify doing it during work, right!? ;)

Monex Deposit Company

I've talked before about checking out Monex Deposit Company online and looking into purchasing silver, gold and other precious metals from them. It's such a convenient way to research and figure out what is best for you. In my opinion you can't go wrong with MDC. They have been around for over 30 years and are America's leader when it comes to the investment of gold, silver and other precious metals. Did you know that? If you are interested in learning more about investing and having it delivered to you immediately...Monex is definitely worth checking out. Their site is very easy to use and the information they offer is outstanding.

Online Shopping

I got to thinking why it is that so many people are shopping online these days. I think I have come to the conclusion...that I'm sure is obvious to some and just took me a bit longer to realize ;). It seems to me that shopping online became even more popular when our economy started getting worse. I have a feeling people try to save money where they can, and with gas prices so high it's obviously cheaper to be home and do their shopping. Now that I think of it...this is probably one of the reasons I do it too. It's more convenient to be home and I don't have to fill my tank as much if I don't travel to pick up a few things each week. It's a good point and one I thought I'd throw out there for anyone wanting to save a little money in these difficult times. There are even great ways to get coupon codes on many sites out there, which will help you save even more money!

Web Design

I have been putting a lot of time into my sister's blog over the past couple of weeks. She has a great blog and is receiving many new visitors a day. We both thought it was about time to give her blog a face lift....so with her ideas and help, I created a new design for her Mom Blog. It's now more professional looking and will be easier for people to navigate. I am hoping it helps bring even more traffic to her site. We'll see.

Vacation Planning Online

Planning vacations these days is easier than it ever used to be. I remember when my mom used to plan our family vacations and would spend days and many hours searching through books. Now however, we have the Internet! Recently, I've been looking around trying to find the best place to family vacation for this winter, and so far Karisma Hotels is it. It's nice to have the convenience of just searching for information online, isn't it?! The reason why this is my top choice so far is not only because of their amazing location on the beaches of the Mexican Riviera Maya....but also because of their unique gourmet inclusive concept, luxurious accommodations and amazing service. I don't know about you, but having beach butlers and beach beds sounds like my kind of vacation.

Planning a Vacation

Lately I've strongly been considering taking a little vacation time and going somewhere that I can just relax and recoup. I'm thinking of Orlando vacations and how nice that would be. Don't you think?!? I know it might sound a bit out there...some would say that's quite a big vacation. However, I'm not looking to do all the touristy things...just go somewhere and relax for a while. I need to do some research first though and figure out where the best place for me to go would be...which hotel, which beaches, etc. Hopefully I will make a decision soon!

Diet Pills Reviews Online

How does a person go about finding the best diet pills? I have yet to figure that out. I always say that finding reviews and listening to real people's opinions on the matter is what's most important, but the hard part is...finding honest reviews. I need to find honest and legit sites that offer real perspectives of those who actually have used the diet pills I am looking at trying. I want to be sure that I find something not only that will be effective, but also one that is going to be good for my health.

I'm Still Here!

I apologize that I've been a little slow at posting here lately. I've been very busy with work and my webs design. My sister is really getting more and more involved with her own blog/business and asked that I help make her blog more professional. It was fun, but also very time consuming. I'm finally done and feel very relieved. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here and will try to be better at posting more consistently.

Dental Discounts Online

I've been living away from home for a few years now and have finally decided to find my own dentist. I got a few referrals and hope I like the one I chose. I used to go to the one my mom works at and in high school it was nice because I got the dental discounts my parent's insurance paid for. Now I have my own insurance but it's not quite as good. I guess that's what happens with growing up though. I think I'll like it ok and at least I have some dental insurance. Some people have none.

Swagbucks

Do you take part in SwagBucks? It's a site I came across a while back and I've found that it's really a good way to make some money or earn points to get prizes. Basically all you have to do is use their search engine in place of a different one like Google or Yahoo. Every so often you'll be awarded Swagbucks which add up and can be used towards prizes. My sister introduced me to it and it's really a neat site.

Video Games

I have always enjoyed playing video games. Although I don't have as much time these days to do so with a full time job...I still like to play a little XBox or ps3 when I get the chance! My favorite games are those which have a goal...not the little kid kind. What kind of video game is your favorite? Through the years they've become so advanced and life like. It's weird to think back to the first games I ever played and see how much they've progressed through the years. AMAZING!
