Getting an Education Online

The beauty of technology today, specifically the Internet, not only allows us to stay connected with people, research things, and even shop online....it has also become a platform for people to continue their education online! I think this is one of the most wonderful things the Internet has allowed us to do. I have family members who studying online and really love it. They can continue on with their careers, while furthering their education at the same time.

I have often considered doing this myself. In looking into it, I found Capella University to be the best option. They are a fully accredited online university that makes it possible for people to get an undergraduate or graduate degree by participating in their many quality courses. I was recently reading about a graduate from there, Jeannie McGuire, who was the founder of Project Unity. She has received the 2008 Sunny Andrews Award for commitment to Social Work from the ASWB. IT's fun to hear the stories of current and past students and the differences they have made. It goes to show what a highly respected university this is.

I don't know about you, but getting an online degree from Capella is definitely an option. I look forward to learning more.

Finding a Home Online

I've been using the greatness of the Internet lately to look for a new place. I had no idea it was so easy to find a home simply by clicking through the web. I have found so many options when it comes to condos in my area. How great is it that we can actually shop for a home from the comfort of our own home. I've already been able to weed out some of the ones I know I wouldn't like, and have some that are very high on my list. Now it's about finding moving companies, a Realtor, and mortgage lender. I suppose I best be searching some more.....

Woot!

Have you ever checked out the site, Woot.com? Amazingly this was a site I hadn't been familiar with until my sister introduced me to it. After learning what it was all about, I have to say I was quite impressed. I enjoy looking through this site each day to find the deals they are running. Much of what they offer are electronics which captured my attention even more. I thought I'd pass it along for others who enjoy a great deal.

Calling all Gamers

I have always enjoyed gaming, especially the games I can play online. I recently came across a site that I had never heard of before and was very impressed.
MagNext Virtual is the game and is a wonderful gaming community that is high tech and a happening place. I was impressed with the uniqueness of it and all it has to offer. Whether you want to race or spin your roller coaster out of control...this is a fun place for kids and gamers of all ages. You can even collect Magz to purchase skills, gear and jobs.

In checking this site out for myself, and even creating an account to try out the game, I have seen first hand that it is a lot of fun and definitely something others would enjoy immensely. My favorite was the Spheron because you get to race. I am going to continue checking it out and playing more...so I will continue to update you on my findings. For the time being I have found it to be a safe and secure site that would be perfect for my little niece and nephew as they get older.

If you get a moment, I would encourage you to check it out for yourself and see what you think. You can sign up for an account for free, or play as a guest. It's a lot of fun and I think you'll love what you find.

Verizon Wireless

Have you heard what Verizon is up to these days?? They are continually advancing, and recently decided to implement a book-sized device for 250 dollars for homes that would like to drop a home phone line and rely just on their cell phones. It will help with cell phone signals and simply needs to be connected to a broadband Internet line. I thought this was a great thing, especially in this time of economic struggle when people want to save money wherever they can.

Diet Pills

After reading and hearing so much talk of diet pills...I decided to go online and see how easy it would be for someone to get useful information...when I say useful, I mean legit. I did some digging and did find some very helpful sites. Especially those that offered reviews of users. For instance I was reading Hydroxycut reviews and found some great information. As I stated previously, especially after having searched through the net....this is definitely the route I would go in trying to find an effective diet pill.

Researching Diet Pills Online

I have never used diet pills before, but know that they are a very popular weight loss options these days. I must admit I don't know a great deal about them, but am sure that I could probably find out everything I need to know via the Internet. I know that the information online is only as reliable as the people writing it, however I also know that there are many dependable sites out there offering legit information to help people make decisions about all kinds of things...including which diet pill to get. I am guessing I could find a wealth of information regarding different types as well as reviews from real people who have used them. If I were to ever try a diet pill...I'm guessing the Internet would be the first place I'd go for answers.

President Obama using the Black Berry One

It's a bit funny to me how much of the news I've seen is all about Barack Obama. I know he's our President now, but does the media have to follow his every move?!? I think some policies and moves he makes are important, but when it comes to which phone he is using....that's a bit much, isn't it?! I read today that he is going to continue to use his BlackBerry One. Now he will have access to e-mail wherever he's at. There is a catch though, which I think is very fair concerning the position he holds. He will have limited use of it and will have very high security on it. Just thought I'd pass this news along for anyone interested in what phone the President is using and why.

Watch Shopping

Another thing I've been searching for in stores as well as online is a new watch. I want something unique and that stands out. In searching I have found so many options, but one of the most interesting was talking watches. Have you ever heard of them. Quite impressive. I'm not sure it's something I'd want to get for myself, but was one of the most unique options I've come across so far. I plan on continuing to look...if you know any great sites let me know.

AllegroMedical.com

I enjoy using the Internet for many things, and one of those is shopping. Recently I was looking for exercise equipment for example and I went searching. I actually found what it was I wanted at Allegro Medical. They are a company that has over 1 million customers and provides thousands and thousands of products. Not only exercise and fitness equipment like I was looking for, but also nutritional dietary supplements, baby supplies and more!! I was really glad that I came across this site as they have so many wonderful products at great prices. I will definitely check back with them again and you may want to too. You can't go wrong with 50000 products, like handicapped toilet, and a trusted company like this.

Computer Worm

My sister was complaining of a virus that entered her computer recently. I then read read about a worm that made it's way into millions of computers and it continues to spread even now...up to one million computers a day. It's known as the Conficker or Downadap. From what I've read it can be very hard to get rid of once in your computer. I hope they figure out soon...as it sounds like it could be quite the threat!

Intel cuts jobs

As if there aren't enough jobs being lost right now in this time of economic struggle, I know hear that Intel Corp is planning on cutting up to 6000 manufacturing jobs. The company is struggling right now and this is how they plan to handle it. I guess this shouldn't really surprise me with all that we're hearing these days, but it kinds of caught me off guard considering it is Intel.

New York Information Online

I have to say that it's been along time since I went on a vacation for fun and not business. As many people know, the best way to plan a vacation and find out information about different locations is by use of the Internet. I've decided to do this, as I am going to be visiting New York this summer for the very first time!! I'm very excited and have already started researching all kinds of things that I want to do and see. I even came across The Village Voice which is the first and largest alternative newsweekly. They offer information about the news, but also on things like culture and entertainment as well. I was impressed to find such a publication right online and all the information it offered. After reading through it, I now know my choices when it comes to events, music, movies, nightlife and New York Restaurants. It's evident to me that this is a well known resource and one which has received many noteworthy awards!! Isn't it great the kinds of information we can find online these days?! It's so convenient.

700 series Garmin

I just recently got a new BMW, and was kind of disappointed because it didn't have a navigation system with it. But little did I know, until I bought my car, that there was a Garmin underneath the passenger seat. I found it when I was looking for a place to stick the owner's manuals that came with the car. I reached under and pulled out a 700 series Garmin. This series of Garmin have many more features than your typical Garmin. They have optional FM traffic, optional MSN Direct, maps for North America, bluetooth, MP3 player, widescreen, and a built in FM Transmitter. I love the feature of the FM Transmitter because it allows me to transmit not only my music, but I can also use the bluetooth to talk on my phone, as a hands-free unit. Having this Garmin, made purchasing my car that much sweeter!

Blog Quality

As I've mentioned before, it's SO important to make sure that your blog articles are relevant to your blog genre and are written with quality. Sometimes those who take part in paid posting lose this quality because they are so focused on reviewing products and services. The blog advertising company, PayPerPost, is actually doing something for the month of January to help bloggers hopefully increase the quality of their blog articles and blogs as a whole. Increasing Blog Article Quality is so important! They're offering posts that have lower word requirements, and less money....yet make it easier because most times all that is required is a link to be put in without having to review it our go into detail about the products, sites, etc. I am not quite sure what I think of this form of advertising, but am curious to learn how it goes for them. What do you think?

Internet Capabilities

I don't know about you, but I hardly ever find myself renting videos these days. It's just so much easier to watch them on TV with the great cable options they have these days. You never know though, I may start to take advantage of places like Redbox which allow you to actually make your rental online and then just go pick it up. Anything to make my life more convenient is great!! I love how the Internet is making all aspects of life easier. Don't you???

Investment Information Online

It never ceases to amaze me the things we can find online. Today I realized that we can actually find information about investing through Monex. They are a trusted leader in precious metals investments and have been for nearly 40 years. They have helped thousands of people with their investment needs for gold, silver and platinum bullion. Another company connected with Monex is Monaco Rare Coin which is one that I learned about as well. They offer unique resources for those who invest and collect certified coins. I enjoyed checking out their websites, and I thought others might as well. Check it out and see what you think for yourself.

Advertising Online

Between the television and the Internet anyone needing to advertise can do so quickly and easily. It's a great way to get the word out there about products and services no matter what they are. Whether it's something like a supplement like Super Cissus or even insurance or loan information...it can all be found online....mainly due to the marketing capabilities that technology has allowed us. If you take some time to think about it...it's really quite amazing. It has me wondering where we'll be in another 10 years. The way technology advances...who knows?!

iPhone News

I was in Best Buy yesterday shopping with my parents for a new computer they've been needing. As they searched, I found myself looking at cell phones. I still am waiting to get the iPhone, but haven't brought myself to spend that kind of money yet. I obviously left empty handed, however that may change, as I heard something today that has got me thinking. I guess Best Buy is wanting to help out those who aren't wanting to spend as much money in these uncertain times with our economy. They are going to be selling refurbished versions of the iPhone for about 50 dollars less than new ones.

Technology

I have always enjoyed utilizing the internet to find whatever it is I need. Now, working in a business that uses a lot of the technology I'm familiar with, they come to me regularly with questions on things. Most recently they asked me if I would do some searching online to see if I could find some safety equipment for the workers I have working for me. Of course I was more than willing, and within no time had found exactly what it is they were looking for. It got me thinking and appreciating the goodness of the web and the convenience it has brought to my life. Where would we be without it??

Buy Anything Online

I am one who is open to buying practically anything online...but when it comes to things like flowers I just never have been able to bring myself to do it. I think I may have been convinced otherwise today though, as I came across FiftyFlowers. Who would have thought that such a product could be sold online?? I know I never did. After reading about their expertise in the matter though, and the experience they've had over the last 10 years providing wholesale wedding hydrangea flowers to coordinators, planners and brides...it got me thinking that this is probably something I'd take advantage of if I was getting married too. I mean who wouldn't want the convenience of going through a good company and get the high quality flowers you want at the affordable prices you need and deserve? If you or someone you know is getting married, this would be a good place to look for flowers. I wanted to pass their site and info along to you as it goes to show how amazing the Internet and our technology today really is.

Stick to what you know...

While I was back home over the holidays my parents were asking me some questions about how to hook up their outdoor lighting. They have Christmas lights that they were taking down, but once they did for some reason their outdoor lights weren't working. Even though lighting isn't necessarily my expertise, I was able to help them out some. You could say I'm probably better off sticking to my electronics and technology related interests. I did help them, but it took quite some time.

Glad to be back!

Wow...what a holiday it has been. I'm back home and ready to get back to posting on a regular basis...at least I hope to do that anyways. Again...I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and able to spend it with loved ones. I for one had a wonderful break and really didn't do a whole lot. My entire family got the flu, but we made the best of it and are all ringing in the new year!! Keep checking back as there will be lots more to come.
