Helicopter

What a nice Christmas I have been having. Not only do I get to spend time with my family, but I have also received some very nice gifts. I had mentioned how fun it might be to have one of those in-home helicopters. I have been working on creating one myself. Well, I did receive one and it is quite tiny, but amazing! It seems to have all of the make up of a larger helicopter. With the lights and blades spinning, there is no fear of damage to be done. It is very light weight and fairly easy to control. Why is it that cell phones get so warm when you're on them long periods of time?!? Ok, ok, I know why...but it's frustrating. I used to have a bluetooth headset and I'm strongly considering getting one again. After spending the last two hours on my phone, it's apparent that this is something I'm terribly in need of. Xbox in trouble....

I'm sure any gamer out there has heard about the xbox controversy with a man who is suing Microsoft after he found the console was scratching his game discs. Well now, they're in even bigger trouble because it has been shown that they may have known about this problem already...possibly before they even released the consoles into stores. They actually had solutions on how to fix the problem, but just hadn't yet. That doesn't look very good if you ask me. The sad thing is...their solution would have cost them very little compared to the trouble they are in now. More to come...

Who would have thought that people would be planning their weddings online? I recently read that there is a site that allows people to do just that. Wow!! Only about 11 years ago did the WeddingChannel.com come about. They are a website here to help people plan their weddings with as little stress as possible. I'm sure that's something all brides and grooms want to hear. So what will you find here? Well, but the sounds of it they not only offer planning tools, but also photos and advice to give you further Wedding Ideas and tips on how to save bullion, as well as vendor guides, registry systems and more. It's quite interesting all that our Internet brings us. Who would have thought?!

Wii for Exercise

Recently my sister and my parents both got a Wii. Neither had played it before, but after learning more about it they decided to take advantage of some of the deals going on lately. They have been playing quite a bit and atest to the fact that it's quite the work out. That's a new thought....gaming as a workout! Usually people think of gaming as being quite lazy...sitting there and moving your fingers. However...the Wii may add a new aspect to gaming that we've never seen before...not to this extent anyways. It's quite interesting.

Do you ever feel like the ads you see online are a bit over the top? I felt this way when I saw an ad for Leptorexin. It seems as though they're calling it the "hottest" fat burner around, yet it's new so how do we know. I'm not trying to put it down in anyway...as it really may work great. I just think sometimes the claims are a bit unbelievable when it comes to a product like this. Who knows? I may try it one day and really like it. That could definitely be the case. I guess if it were me and I was looking for a fat burner, I would do a lot of research online, as well as find many reviews from those who have used it as well.

Las Vegas Vacation

Today made me realize that winter is officially here in the midwest. With temps below zero and winds blowing, I now know that it is time to start planning that vacation somewhere warm. I'd love to go somewhere for an entire week...but if I do it needs to be relaxing and warm. Of course I've been doing a lot of looking online and found a hotel in las vegas that I'm quite interested in. I think this would make for a great break, as there's a lot to do, yet it's relaxing at the same time. We'll have to see what I can all find for prices online and see.

Where Will We Be?

I don't know about you, but I hardly ever even watch the news anymore on TV. It seems all the information we could ever need is right here online. It's so much more convenient for me to look into what's going on in our world today as far as the news gos, weather and more. The convenience of technology is great, but it often does make me wonder where we'll be in a few years with things continuing to advance. Will we even have the News on television anymore? Will there be more people out of jobs?? Something to think about.

Do you Trust the Internet?

Having been out of school for a couple years now, I'm starting to realize some things about the real world that I had no clue about before. Much of it comes from my job and things like term life insurance, health insurance, etc. I was blessed to have much of that kind of thing taken care of by my parents while in school. However, now that I am out I obviously have it all as my responsible. I don't mind it...I just have to ensure that I make wise decisions with my money. There is a lot of responsibility as I continue to make it on my own and I'm appreciating more and more for what my family has done for me over the years. I learn much of what I need to know from people I work with or online, but I still always know that my parents have great recommendations for me also. Although the internet is a great resource...it can never be trusted 100%.

It started off a bit slow, but many people are starting to pick up on their shopping sprees and gearing up for Christmas which is right around the corner. Hearing this makes me appreciate the convenience of the Internet even more. Even though many people are struggling with the economic situation, they are able to shop from the comfort of their own homes without having to spend any money to drive to the store. I'm glad that people are still finding a way to enjoy the holidays!! What a great time of year!

What do you think about TV ads?

There are a lot of ads out there on TV that I don't mind. There are some for clothing stores, some for new products, and some for food items...however the ones that I'm not sure I see the point on being viewable by everyone watching are those sexy lingerie commercials. How about you? I think technology is a great thing, and I'm happy that they can use the television waves to market their services and products...however I'm not sure all parents would be happy to have their children viewing ads like these. Maybe it's just the protective uncle in me...I don't know?!

Comfort While Online

I enjoy being on my computer in the evenings, but do not enjoy the backaches and headaches that come along with it. I sit on the computer all day at work and have really come to dislike the discomfort that I'm feeling. I have tried all sorts of things and so far the only thing that works is setting my computer up on the tv furniture that I have and sitting in a comfortable chair in front of it. My desk and office chair and far too uncomfortable...this is more relaxing and so far seems to be helping a bit. I wish I could have a reclining living room chair at work too...that would be great!

Scene It on Xbox

Anyone who loves playing games has probably heard of the game, Scene It, right?? If so, you may have also known that this game is a huge hit with the XBOX console fans! There's a version out there specifically for the Xbox 360 and from what I hear, it's quite the crowd pleaser! I've never played it on the Xbox before, but knowing how much fun the actual game is...I'm sure I'll really enjoy it.

IDUG Contest

Have you ever heard of IDUG before? I hadn't until just recently, but am very impressed with who they are what they're doing currently! They are a website that's sponsoring a new IDUG contest for developers. This can be anyone...a student, professional...even a hobbyiest! What they want to do is get people more familiar with XQuery, XML and DB2. There are five different levels, or what they call tracks that contestants can enter. You can enter one or all of them...it's up to you!

Interested in what these tracks are? Well...it's either a video, a gadget contest where a widget or gadget is created, the XQuery Challenge where you answer questions, the port an application track, and the develop an application. Cyber Monday was a HIT!

Turns out Cyber Monday was quite the hit when it came to shopping. This year we all expected the spending to slow down a bit, however Cyber Monday seemed to go quite well as confirmed by many articles that I've read. I think this is great. Maybe it's because so many people aren't wanting to spend the money on gas so they're finding new ways to shop?!? I know I'd rather shop online these days then head out and go to the store.

Getting engaged is something I really look forward to...and a proposal is something that could be in the near future. Knowing this, I often enjoy looking around to see what some of my options are for engagement rings. I think I've come to the conclusion that platinum is the best choice. Wouldn't you agree?? When Eagles Attack

I often enjoy watching the news online...as it's more convenient than waiting around for the news to come on at night. It's just another great reason why everyone should have access to the web. Unrelated to anything technological...the most recent news story I watched online was quite interesting...especially as someone who owns a cat myself.

A woman was outside in her backyard with her small dog and cat. The cat was playing on the ground as well as her dog. All of a sudden a bald eagle swooped down on top of her cat and carried it away with it. Most people don't think of anything like this ever happening but it is possible. It reminded me of a time when I was younger. A HUGE hawk came swooping down in our back yard and tried to pick up rabbit. The rabbit got away after my sister scared it...but there was fur and blood everywhere. It makes me more watchful when I have my cat out and about now, that's for sure!

Working on Computers

I love working on computers and am so thankful that this is what my job is most days each week. However...the one downfall to sitting behind computer desks all day is the backaches I get and the headaches I get from looking at the computer screen for long periods of time. I still haven't come up with a great solution to this problem. I find that over the counter pain relievers help a little bit, but I'm going to have to find something like a better chair that will help ease the pain with out having to take medication.

Black Friday Xbox 360 Sales

Interesting news from Microsoft. It sounds like xBox sales on Black Friday did more than their share of sales. They not only outsold Playstation 3 consoles by 3 to 1...but they also had their best Black Friday sales day ever!! Pretty impressive. I would have thought in this time of economic uncertainty that sales would be down on things like this, but it's good to hear that people are still enjoying life and playing video games.

This is the time of year when everyone becomes more giving. I love hearing about the giving stories people have to tell...and one of these is at the Home Wish Registry at Sears. Now that I am an Uncle, I have learned many things...especially all the toys that are available out there. A year ago I had no idea what kinds of things were offered or what kids like...however as my little niece and nephew get older I can tell you that technology sure has come a long way since I was young.
