Advertising

Do you ever get a little bit annoyed with all of the ads you see online and on the television? I know I do. I know that the technology has become more advanced and these are the best ways to advertise products, services, etc. However, while I'm watching a movie, or checking my e-mail...the last thing I want to see is a Phentermine ad. Don't you think? Maybe it's just me. I try to be understand and know that this is a very important aspect of promoting items, however I wish that they would not do it so often.

Christmas Ideas

It's that time of year when everyone is Christmas shopping. My mom is one of them. She's always on the ball when it comes to getting the shopping done early. I guess I'm the only one left that she has things to buy for. I couldn't really come up with many ideas for her this year. I got thinking and told her some of tech stuff I want...one of which is a new flash drive. I'm hoping she can find a good deal on one...maybe this Friday with all the sales.

Gaming Industry Report Card

I read yesterday that unlike the report in 2005....The National Institute on Media and the Family has reported that the Gaming Industry is doing well. Unlike in the past, they are now doing a better job at giving parents the means to choose games which are appropriate for their children. Between the ratings and the built in parent controls...there has been a huge improvement on the gaming industry's side of things. I'm sure they were very happy to hear this!

Parents are still not watching the rating system as well as they should, so the NIMF has released a list of 10 games not suitable for kids under 17. They are

* Blitz: The League II
* Dead Space
* Fallout 3
* Far Cry 2
* Gears of War 2
* Legendary
* Left 4 Dead
* Resistance 2
* Saints Row 2
* Silent Hill: Homecoming

It's nice for parents that they have a list like this. Now if only they would watch the ratings and use the tools that have been given to them to make sure their kids are playing games appropriate for their age.

Web Design Project

I currently working on creating a big website for my company. I love web design so this is has always been a dream of mine. It's right up my alley and something I've really been enjoying. The only problem is it's taking up much of my time at work and here at home. I may not be as good to post as frequently, but once I'm done with this big project things will get back to normal. I may have to share some o fmy designs as I finish this site up.

Great Auto Website

Right up there with technology is my love for cars. I often find myself browsing on the web for anything and everything to do with cars. Recently I came across PowerSteeringPros.com. You'll appreciate the free shipping and full warranty offered. If you'd like to learn more about this site and the steering box products they offer...check it out today!

Get Ready For Friday

There's only a couple of days left until the biggest shopping day of the year! Now all of the ads are coming out online and I took a look at many of them. I was amazed to see what great deals many of the stores are having on electronics. Whether it's flat screen televisions, GPS, or something else....this Friday would be the day to go out and take a look. I have a feeling these items will go quickly though, better wake up early.

I typically would not encourage you to do your jewelery shopping online, but when it's with a trusted leader in jewelery sales like Holsted Jewelers I can make an exception. Effects of Macbook use without battery

I am an avid Macbook user. I used to have a PC, but now would never go back!! I love my Mac. I did learn something very interesting today though...something that would probably be of interest to some other Macbook users as well.

Have you ever used your Macbook without the battery in it while on AC power? If so, have you ever noticed that the performance was not up to par? I guess I had noticed this a while back, but didn't think much of it. Now reading some things online, it is confirmed that there is at least a 37% drop in performance when the battery is not in. Mac has a reason for this....but ultimately the main point is that if you want your computer to perform at it's best, it's better to have the battery in. Many think that it will prolong the battery life for a few months by taking nit out...but if it means taking a hit performance wise, I personally don't think it's worth it. What do you think??

Computer Flash Drives Banned at Pentagon

Interesting news from the Pentagon concerning external computer flash drives....they have temporarily banned them. Why you ask? Well, supposedly there have been virus threats detected so they are trying to keep from any problems arising. I don't blame them, i would have probably done the same thing. The ban has not been confirmed, however the employees were informed of the new rule.

Researching Vacations Online

Planning vacations these days is easier than it every used to be. I've been looking around trying to find the best cancun all inclusive vacation place for this winter, and so far Karisma Hotels is it. It's nice to have the convenience of just searching for information online, isn't it?! The reason why this is my top choice so far is not only because of their amazing location on the beaches of the Mexican Riviera Maya....but also because of their unique gourmet inclusive concept and amazing service. I don't know about you, but having beach butlers and beach beds sounds like my kind of vacation. You don't get much more relaxing than that or treated more like gold now, do you?! You can learn more by visiting their site.

BlackBerry Storm On Sale

My brother in law really wants the BlackBerry Storm. He was telling me today though, that he heard they sold out very quickly!! Yesterday they went on sale and there were lines and lines of people waiting to purchase them. Many went home without anything though. People have been looking forward to this phone coming out for a long time...with it's touch screen and other great features it's very comparable to the iPhone. The one thing that kept him going and standing in those long lines is that it costs 50 dollars jut for the data package. I think he's going to keep looking.

Engineers Sentenced

I'm sure many have heard of the two men from China who stole a computer chip design from Silicon Valley employers. But, what you may not have known...and I didn't until just this morning was that these two engineers were sentenced to a year in prison yesterday. They were trying to smuggle the secrets to where they lived so they could launch a government backup there. I guess it was said that the men could have faced up to 30 years, but since they cooperated with police they only face two. Seems a little weird to me...but at least they have some sort of consequence for what they've done.

Planning Vacations Online

Planning a vacation destination never used to be as easy as it is now. It used to be that we had to search through little booklets to find information when planning a family trip. Now you can just go online and do all of the research you need to and have plans in minutes. Lately I've been looking to take a vacation to Colorado...as this is where my Girlfriend's parents live now. In looking around, I have come across the Denver Magazine which is a great resource for people like me who want information on all kinds of things....business, political, culture, Denver Restaurants, entertainment, historical elements, and more! Check it out if you'd like more information.

Internet Use

Watching the news tonight I was not surprised to hear that our generations are becoming more and more computer and internet literate. This can be a good thing, but also can be a bad thing depending on what they are using the internet for. For instance....using the web to e-mail, work, or shop can be good things.....but when you're e-mailing spam or shopping for effective diet pills it gets a bit questionable. I think the internet has become almost everyone's source information...but what we need to remember is that there are people who are not honest therefore we need to make sure that what we're reading in our e-mail or online is factual.

Watching Movies Online

With our technology advancing, we're seeing more and more people doing everything online! Nothing ceases to amaze me anymore. The big thing these days is watching movies online, or even cell phones. It's crazy that someone could sit for hours watching a movie on anything other than a big screen TV, but that is just my opinion I guess. I recently read something that I found to be quite humorous...there was a list stating the top 10 movies one should not watch on their cell phone or internet. Why you ask? Well...sometimes it has to do with the pictures in the movie...while other times it has to do with the length of the movie. Whatever the reason, I'm sure there are more than just 10 that should not be watched in this manner. If you're someone who watches movies online...think about the movie before you watch it and how it will appear on such a small screen.

Security

In my place of work security cameras are a MUST!! The security there is so high that if you don't have an ID you don't get in. There are alarms everywhere and all computers are monitored. I understand their reasoning behind it....as it's a very large company that deals with very expensive pieces of equipment. It's a very technologically advanced company...so I guess I wouldn't expect anything less from them

Regency

I knew that people could find colleges online, but never really thought about people researching Beauty Schools online before. I don't know why, but it had never crossed my mind. I happened to come across Regency beauty schools recently and learned that they are the fastest growing beauty school in the country...having been around for over 50 years and continually growing. I was impressed to learn so much about their school right online...even the small details like the hands on training they receive is all laid out on their site. If you'd like to learn more about how this school's unique form of education and beauty schools in michigan can benefit you check out their site today.

Facebook News

Facebook is the most popular form of social networking online today. I'm sure most people have heard or used it...I know I have. It seems they are always changing and making things better. Recently I read they they pulled some Italian neo-Nazi pages from their website after receiving many complaints that violence was being prompted against gypsies. I hadn't heard of any of this going on, but read a very interesting article about it. I'm glad that they are watchful of the pages being put on their site and taking down the ones that aren't appropriate.

Digital Landing

Have you ever found yourself wishing that there was a place online where you could find all the information you could need about the digital age we're in? Especially when it comes to High-Speed Internet?? I know I have!! Recently in doing a search for this exact thing, I came across Digital Landing. They're a site that gives consumers like you and me the information we need through articles, FAQ's, video tutorials and a helpful search engine. I was very impressed with their site and the information they offer and thought others would be as well. If you're looking for this kind of information, or simply a way to look for and order Internet Services from providers like Comcast, Time Warner and others...Digital Landing is definitely where you want to be. Check it out and see what you think.

Gaming on iPhones

I have yet to get an iPhone...but when I do it will be a phone I plan on keeping for a long time. I haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much money on a phone...but I'm sure before long I will do it. Since gaming is one of the things I enjoy doing....I found it interesting to read that over the past few months people have been using the gaming feature more than any other application offered. Sounds like my kind of phone, how about you?? It looks like mobile gaming could really be something big here in North America in the near future!

Break From Blogging

Sorry I haven't been the best about posting lately. I've had quite the ordeal with my car recently. The biggest problem I've had lately was when I went back to visit my sister and the morning I was to leave, it would not start. This is a new car and in my opinion should not have these kinds of problems. I was a bit frustrated, but what choice did I have than to have it towed and looked at by the local car dealership. Thankfully it was nothing too big...but I did have a massive bill. I'm glad that my auto insurance will cover the towing, but I still have to pay quite a big bill. Oh well...I guess that's what happens sometimes. Anyways...I'm back in the land of the living and will try to be better about posting.

Christmas Lists with WishList.com

I often pride myself in knowing about most reputable websites out there used for all sorts of reasons. However, my sister in law recently introduced me to a website that I had never heard of when she sent my nephews Christmas list. With it being that time of year when many people are handing out Christmas lists and shopping like crazy, I thought it would help to pass the word along about Wishlist.com. This site is truly amazing. You can find things anywhere online and add them to this list. Not only that, but people can simply click on the item and it will take them to the site where it can be found and bought. Talk about convenient and easy Christmas shopping! WOW!

Get an Online Degree

The Internet offers so much convenience and options for people nowadays. For instance, if someone like myself who has a full time career wants to further their education at the same time...they actually can do that right online. Isn't that amazing? Not all that long ago online universities weren't even in existence. Now you have great ones like Capella University that wants to help people pursue their dreams from the comfort of their own home! You can get an online degree in a number of their undergraduate and masters programs. Their website has a great deal of information to offer, including their latest Inside Online Education podcast which offers a discussion with current faculty chair, Beverly Enns. Check it out if you get the chance.

Another Business Trip

It seems with my new promotion I will be traveling a lot more. I recently took a business trip to Chicago, and now am planning a trip to Las Vegas and California. It's quite fun though...as I otherwise would be stuck in the cold midwest here. I am currently looking for hotel in las vegas....as this is the first place I will be headed. The nice thing about Vegas is that they have a wealth of hotels to choose from. So far I've found many that are options so that's great! I love looking online...I seem to find the best deals that way.

Following the Election Online

I don't know about you, but the night of the election I was in front of my computer most of the time! I had on the TV too...but I actually found that some of the sites out there actually updated the votes more quickly than the news channels. I especially enjoyed when there were maps where you could click on specific states and find exact percentages of votes and who was winning. Technology sure has come far. I had never seen such advancement when it came to the election. Pretty neat.

Zenni Optical

I have found that with the way our economy is right now...My family and I watch what we spend on things. I look for cheaper prices on every day products that I would have never used to have thought twice about buying. Now even things like prescription eyeglasses have me thinking things through more. I was at work recently and noticed that my glasses were not working like they should. I did some looking to see if I could get modern looking and stylish prescription glasses cheaper than I have in the past. I came across ZenniOptical.com. Ever heard of them?? I was really impressed with all they have to offer when it comes to stylish prescription glasses. I can go on their website and find glasses for as low as 8 dollars! That sounds great with the cost of everything else these days! If you're like me and looking for ways to cut back spending, but in need of some glasses. Take a look at Zenni Optical. They have a HUGE selection of frames, lenses, tinted sunglasses lenses, and more! Their low prices are outstanding and definitely worth taking a look at! You'll appreciate their low prices and quality selection of ever day eyewear!

Work, Work, Work

I apologize that posting has been a bit slow lately....I have been working more lately, and recently was gone visiting my sister and her family. I was actually working from there too. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing?!? It's nice to have a job where I can work from home online when I need to. I've been helping to design a website, which I mentioned before....it's pretty much done but just needed a couple of finishing touches. My boss was very impressed. It feels good to have that done. Now I'm off to a business trip in Chicago...have a great week!

What Makes a Good Website?

I always enjoy finding a site that offers a number of products I'm looking for all in one place. Not only that, but being able to use a site that is user friendly and easy for me to find what I'm looking for. Have you ever heard of Allegro Medical? I was recently on this site looking for some exercise equipment and found that it was a site just like the one I previously described. It not only offers a number of things like exercise equipment, medical supplies, nutritional supplements and outdoor gear....but also is very easy to use! They have all of their 55,000 products separated into categories making it much easier to search than some of these other sites out there. I was extremely impressed to further find out that they serve over 1 million customers and are one of the largest independent retailers for life enhancing products. When I come across a site as impressive as this, I can't help but pass it along!

Electronics-Big Shopping Item This Holiday Season

Even with the way our economy is going lately, a recent study showed that electronics and other gadgets are still high on the list of holiday shoppers. Amazingly, people have already begun to shop for Christmas gifts, and it's been said that many of them are purchasing the expensive items like an iPhone for instance. I don't know that it's so much the love for electronics....but the fact that cell phones for instance, have become a necessity in our world today. They truly are something we depend on greatly. Besides, there's really nothing better then getting the gadgets and electronics that are out these days as a gift...right?!
