Buying Jewelry Online

I do a lot of shopping online, but jewelry...particularly engagement rings... are one thing I don't think I could get myself to purchase in this way. Diamonds are something that I want to look at in person and get the opinion of a licensed and professional jeweler. I've had many family members purchase big pieces of jewelry online before with no problems...I would just be a bit leery myself. Who knows...when the time comes for me to buy something like this I may change my mind. I suppose I'd have to do more research and find trustworthy sites.

Website Design

Recently I have been putting a lot of time and effort into creating a new website for my place of work. I apologize if I have been neglecting this blog some. I'm working full time and then at night have been working on creating our website. I'm not complaining in anyway though...as designing and creating websites is something I really enjoy. However, like most people know...it's just something that takes time and isn't always easy. Hopefully the end result will be very impressive...I know my bosses are depending on that. In no time I will be back on and posting like usual....my apologies.

Now is the time when almost anyone can find love online! I've known many people who have tried the different dating sites and did not like them, while others loved them and actually found that special someone that they were to marry. I think it depends on the person, but if you're open to trying a site like this...you may really like it!?! I got to thinking about how easy it is to meet someone nowadays, with the technology of the Internet, when I read about an 81 year old man who found love online. He married a 58 year old woman whom he met online. It just goes to show how amazing our technology is today and how helpful it can be!!

Ads Going Too Far??

Being the type of person who works a lot online, and even makes an income doing so....I understand the need for ads. However....lately I feel it's becoming increasingly worse online and on television! I feel like I can not go to one site, or one channel without having a bunch of ads pop up about a variety of topics. I don't mind those that will help people make better decisions for themselves....weight loss pills, insurance, etc....but those that focus on hair shampoos and food....not really all that interesting I guess. What do you think? Has it gone a little bit too far?

Flash Memory

With so many different digital devices, it is hard get enough internal memory to allow me to do the things that I would like with my devices. With flash memory I can feel free to do whatever I want. You can get flash memory in many different sizes ranging from 256 mb up to 8 Gb, with that kind of memory capablility there is no excuse for me not to be able to do what I want on my devices.

A Line Drawn When Buying Online

I buy almost everything online these days...and it does not stop at jewelry. Nope...jewelry is actually a very popular item purchased on the internet today. As long as you're buying from a reputable site...I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I do think however, that it depends on the piece of jewelry or accessory you're buying. I'm not going to go and buy an engagement ring online...but I would buy fashion jewelry or even Festina watches or something along those lines. What do you think? Where's the line you draw when it comes to buying online?

Obama ads in Video Games!

I don't know about you, but the presidential ads on television and in newspapers are getting a bit old. An ad on almost every channel and in every newspaper is a bit much, don't you think? Well...I thought it was a bit much until I heard that Obama is actually paying to have his campaign ads pop up in XBox 360 Live's video games. Basically anyone playing video games where they connect their XBox to the internet will get to see Obama. I thought TV and newspapers were overboard, but this is just ridiculous in my opinion! I really don't think that politics belongs in the gaming world...but there's a first for everything I guess. Some think it's a smart move, while others feel it's a little violating and intrusive of their free time. What do you think?

Having worked in a cell phone store, I know how many options there are out there for people to choose from. You'd think it would have made it easier for me to make a decision on the service or phone I want....but so far it hasn't. I get a phone, and then find one that I like better and switch to it. I have to say, I do enjoy T-Mobile the best so far....but am not sure I'll stick with them forever. In fact, I really like Sprint phones , so who knows..maybe I'll look into them?!? I'm always looking for the newest and best phone, as well as the service. My family has Verizon cell phones and they really like them. To each their own I guess.

Design Finished!

I recently finished helping my Grandma get one of her blogs up and running. I enjoy designing blogs, so this was no problem at all for me. I wanted to do something a little different than I had done before...and I think I succeeded. It was fun to merge her ideas and mine and come up with what I would say is a pretty pretty nice site. She's really enjoying it as well. Each template that I make it becomes easier and easier for me. This one only took me a few hours. That's a record for me!

Selling Online

The internet is a great place to sell things and to buy. What easier way to shop, then right here from the comfort of your own home. But, what if you got online and saw that some of your own belongings were being sold...but not by you?!? I think I would be a bit disturbed by this. As were David and Victoria Beckham when they found that two of the housekeepers who worked for them were up to no good. No one has been charged, but the investigation is still on as many memorable things were taken and sold. I am sure that this happens all over....the internet has it's good points, but also it's bad I suppose.

I'm always interested in learning about new technology devices. Recently I learned of Zeno. Have you ever heard of that?? It's actually a handheld, electronic medical device that helps to treat acne. It doesn't help with blackheads or scars or anything, but it does help with small blemishes. Obviously online shopping is kind of my thing. i enjoy shopping this way, not only for myself, but also for holiday shopping for others. Facebook and Revenue

As one of the Internet's most popular social networking sites, Facebook is continuing to grow. There's probably not one person who hasn't at least heard of it. No matter what your age, or where your from...it's available to everyone. So the question many people are asking is how Zuckerberg plans to bring in revenue from the popular site. I really like his answer to this question actually....he stated that he's more interested in growth than anything else at this point. He knows that they'll need to figure out the money side of things within the next few years, but he just wnats to help the site to continue to grow. I think that's smart of him.

Hacker of Sarah Palin's E-mail Caught

Yesterday I was watching the news before going to bed as I always do and heard that the guy who hacked into Sarah Palin's government e-mail has confessed and is facing charges. I'm very happy to hear that. I know that there are many people who know a lot about the computer and internet, but to hack into someone else's e-mail, let alone their government e-mail is just wrong. I'm glad he realized how serious his actions were and just came forward. I hope he receives the consequences that he deserves.

Purchasing Online

I have ordered and shopped for many things online, but when it comes to big items I typically go in the store. I don't' know why, I'd just much rather see it in person. However, my sister and her husband bought an elliptical machine off the Nordik Trak website recently and the order went through very smoothly. I guess it makes me think twice about the things I'm not so willing to buy online...and maybe next time I will try ordering something fairly large. I guess more and more people are doing it with much success now.

New Mindset Game

So, there are a lot of unique video games out there these days, but today I heard of the most extreme game I've ever heard of. Have you heard of Mindset before? This is literally a "mind game"! It's no longer about how fast you're fingers can move the controllers, it's now about a headset which detects how relaxed or tense you are, and then monitors your brain waves to move the characters. Isn't that crazy?! I'm not even sure what I think about such a game?! These games will be children's games and will probably be available next year. I'd love to hear what you think about a game like this.

Cell Phones Taken to the Next Level

For a while now I've been hearing about the Blackberry Storm. It's supposed to be pretty cool. However, just recently was the first I had heard of the new touch screen that they are implementing. It sounds incredible!! Unlike the glass, awkward screen of the iphone, this one will actually have springs under the screen which will be pressed by the fingers when using it's touch screen. Effect of Internet Use on Teens

Recently it was said by the director of the White House war on drugs that certain videos online that show people using drugs can be somewhat of an encouragement to teens to use drugs and alcohol. These kinds of videos have been found on very popular sites among teens like Myspace for instance. It's been advised that parents pay much closer attention to what their children are doing on the internet. I completely agree....as it's uphauling to think that people are encouraging this kind of behavior among kids through the internet. With each year that passes, we find more and more issues that surround the danger of young children using the internet. I think that parents more than ever need to watch everything their children are doing online and be firm on what they're doing.

Isn't the internet a great thing?!? I was talking with my brother today on Skype...which is a great way to keep in touch with people on the computer I might add....and he was telling me about his new sunglasses. He was wearing them as we talked, to show me exactly how they looked. My brother and I don't typically have the same "style", but I really like his new Wayfarer sunglasses. Still Designing...

I'm currently working on finishing that design for my Grandma's blog that I posted about a few days ago. Computer Use and Dieting

This might be an odd theory, but do you think people who spend a lot of time on the computer actually use it as a sort of appetite suppressant? I was thinking about this the other day at work while I was on the computer for a very long period of time working. I got to thinking about how hours had passed and I hadn't even thought of food. Could it be that working on the computer keeps our mind off snacking all day?? Hmmm...something to think about I suppose.
